Our Venue

Sweet Summertime Wedding at Mission Inn

Kristen & Andrew’s Sweet Summertime Wedding at Mission Inn Resort and Club

Kristen and Andrew first toured Mission Inn Resort in April 2019. They recall being immediately impressed, saying the following: “We had toured quite a few places already and really hadn’t found anything that would work for our large guest count. Jessica took the time to get to know us and our story, showed us all around the property, and answered our endless list of questions. The venue is so beautiful and huge! They had lots of options for ceremony and reception spaces for all different guests counts. Plus it is a resort, so all of our out of town guests had a place to spend the weekend comfortably.”

Unfortunately, Kristen and Andrew did have to do some date rescheduling due to the 2020 uncertainty. We were happy to work with them to make the process easy and accommodate any changes that may have come with the new date.

Kristen and Andrew got ready in their respective suites with their loved ones – and then shared the sweetest first look in Plaza de las Palmas.

Nothing is more stunning than a sunset ceremony on Plaza de la Fontana. All of Kristen and Andrews loved ones gathered to watch the lovebirds tie the knot in their beautiful outdoor ceremony. Bathed in golden light, the newlyweds shared their first kiss as husband and wife and then made their way back down the aisle.

It’s clear that Kristen and Andrew were surrounded by an abundance of love on their big day. Their wedding party was fun-loving and supportive, the perfect combination for those you choose to stand by your side on the most important day of your life.

Kristen and Andrew had endless options for photo backdrops, all over Mission Inn Resort.

Kristen shared the following regarding the outcome of her wedding: “The wedding weekend was absolutely flawless! We had our rehearsal dinner on Friday night at Legends. It was set up beautifully and executed smoothly by Nelson. He was so professional and friendly, we were glad to have him the next night at the reception! The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, and everyone had a great time! We continued the celebration at the La Margarita Lounge – our guests loved the outdoor patio area with fire pits.

Our wedding day was spectacular. The entire day ran so smoothly and my husband and I didn’t have to worry about a single thing. The ceremony was in Plaza de la Fontana and was the perfect backdrop. The cocktail hour was in Plaza de las Palmas, which basically looks like a garden and has market lighting strung throughout. We had our reception in the Grand Ballroom – which was decorated perfectly and looked so elegant.

The staff was absolutely incredible. So many of our guests kept telling us how amazing the service was – all the servers, bartenders, and wedding team. They even made sure that my husband and I got to have some of our cocktail hour appetizers since we were away taking photos and that we always had cocktails. Our pictures turned out amazing – the property has so many wonderful and completely different places to take photos. It’s definitely not your typical golf course/resort! Everything at the Mission Inn far exceeded our expectations – our wedding really was a dream come true!”

Light and Bright All-Inclusive Wedding

Crystal and Rafael’s light and bright all-inclusive wedding was on December 12, 2020. The beautiful and intimate event was complemented perfectly by the affectionate couples love for one another. They also took advantage of Mission Inn Resort and Club Wedding’s new all-inclusive package. This package makes planning a breeze, as we help you choose all of your vendors and sign their contracts. All you have to do is tell us what you want!

Keep reading to find out more about their love story and their perfect wedding day.

Crystal and Rafael first met when Crystal visited a friend who worked at Rafael’s barbershop. After a few months of casual interaction, they had their official introduction at Rafael’s grand opening party. Soon, they got coffee together and never looked back. From gym trips to movie dates, Crystal mentions that the conversation never lulled. From the very beginning, they were able to talk about “anything and everything.”

On their anniversary, Crystal and Rafael took a trip to Chicago. It was a perfect winter wonderland and also Rafael’s first time in the city. His one request was that they visit Navy Pier, so Crystal was sure to leave time for that in-between all of their other sightseeing. Once they got onto the Ferris wheel, a nervous Rafael waited until they got to the top, and then got down on one knee. Afterwards, they went to the John Hancock tower to celebrate, where they ate chocolate covered strawberries and drank champagne. Crystal describes it as the “Best Day Ever!”

Crystal and Rafael shared their super special first-look by the Plaza de la Fontana fountain before their ceremony. First looks are such a sweet moment for the bride and groom to spend some quality time together before the craziness begins.

Since Crystal and Rafael are from out of town, they wanted this wedding to be a vacation for their guests. Between the palm trees and resort amenities, Crystal knew that this was a place she could see her guests relaxing all weekend long.

For their light and bright wedding, Crystal and Rafael chose to have their ceremony on the Plaza de la Fontana lawn. The beautiful backdrop was illuminated by the setting sun, creating the most perfect golden light for their sentimental ceremony.

Following the ceremony, Crystal and Rafael’s guest headed to cocktail hour while the couple and their family took wedding portraits. At Mission Inn Resort, you’ll find that you have an endless number of gorgeous photo locations at your disposal.

When asked about Mission Inn, Crystal is excited to say that they knew this was the venue for them right away. She says that it was “the exact aesthetic” they were looking for and they could immediately picture their wedding taking place here at Mission Inn.

Once the ceremony and cocktail hour wrapped up, guests were treated to an intimate and glamorous outdoor reception. All of the beautiful florals were provided by Bluegrass Chic, a proud member of the all-inclusive package. Additionally, the stunning cake was created by another all-inclusive member – Bakers Cottage. We ensure that our all-inclusive vendors are the best quality available. With multiple options in each category, you’ll be sure to find someone who fits your vibe and vision.

Crystal and Rafael’s beautiful evening would not have been possible without the amazing team of vendors that came together. Call us today to see how the all-inclusive package can provide all of your wedding-day dreams!

Gina and Toby on the Marina boardwalk

Old Florida Marina Wedding

Gina and Toby celebrated their love on February 7, 2020, with a moody, Old Florida Marina Wedding. With a backdrop almost as beautiful as the loving couple, the day was sure to be a magical success. As we got to know the couple, we discovered more about how Gina and Toby met and fell so madly in love…

Gina and Toby Kiss on the Marina Boardwalk

A few months after Gina made a giant move from Pennsylvania to Tennessee, she went under contract on a house. During such a life-changing time for Gina, she never could have expected what came next. As she was preparing to start her new life, Toby the home-inspector paid a routine visit, and there was an immediate connection. Their respective sparks turned into the courage to begin seeing one another and, as Gina puts it, “by the third date, neither of us could picture life without each other.” Toby eventually popped the question in St Augustine, Florida during their annual “Nights of Lights” Christmas festival.

As a couple, Gina says that their most memorable experience was on their first international trip together, when they first said “I Love You.” The magical moment happened on Lover’s Bridge in Lake Como, Italy. Since then, the couple continues to pursue their love of travel and have been on many more international trips together.

Embracing in the Old Florida Marina

When asked what brought them to Mission Inn, they answered that the natural landscape and Old Florida feel of Marina del Rey was synonymous with their love for adventure and the outdoors. We can only imagine what future adventures are in store for Gina and Toby.

Narrowing Down Your Wedding Venue Search

Narrowing Down Your Wedding Venue Search

With over 500 wedding venues in Central Florida, narrowing down your wedding venue search may seem impossible. If you jumped onto a venue search website like Wedding Venue Map or The Knot moments after getting engaged, you’re not alone. It is completely normal to have FOMO (fear of missing out) when it come to choosing a venue. After all, your venue will be the background to your happily ever after. But there is a fine line between having choices and being completely overwhelmed with options. So how do you narrow down your wedding venue search?

Knowledge is Power

Yes, this may have been a cliche saying on a classroom wall at one point, but it is true. Before you even click search, start your planning with some preliminary information. Two of the most important things you can go into the wedding venue search armed with are your approximate guest count and a general idea of what you are wanting to spend. Venue options are going to be very different if you’re looking to host 30 guests versus 300. This allows you to quickly narrow your search to only venues that fit your guest count and desired budget.

Have a Vision

This one may seem obvious but often times couples start the venue search not even sure what they are looking for. Does your perfect venue have lush gardens or is a tropical beach more your vibe? Are you looking for classic and romantic or rustic and laid back? Narrowing down the wedding style you are looking for keeps you from having to look at every venue type from a chic city rooftop to tree-filled state park. It allows you to spend your time seeing venues that really fit you.

Set Limits

Before you start touring venues, decide on when you’d like to choose your wedding venue. Setting a deadline can keep you from spending forever going on endless venues tours. Once you start touring venues, give yourself a max number of venues that you are going to see in person. For home buyers, the national association of Realtors recommends a maximum of ten home visits and ten weeks for the house hunting process. For your wedding day, you could safely cut each of these in half, limiting yourself to five venues in five weeks but definitely don’t see more than ten or you’ll start forgetting what details you liked or disliked about each.

Compare Apples to Apples

Wedding venues are all really different (that’s why you’re looking at more than one – right?) Just as different as wedding venues are, wedding venue packages are just as different. Each venue chooses different features to highlight and menus to offer. Once you’ve started receiving wedding venue packages and later, formal venue proposals, be sure to compare them equally for what is included. Some items to look at that often differ from venue to venue include ready room and honeymoon suite accommodations, bar allowances (hosted bar versus consumption bar versus cash bar), quantity of hors d’eouvres and entrees. Comparing packages in this way ensures that you are getting the best “bang for your buck”.

 Consider Your Guests

If a lot of your wedding guests are coming in from out of town for the wedding, consider how close your venue is to local accommodations. Consider hosting your wedding day at a venue that offers plenty of rooms for your guests to stay. Also keep in mind transportation for these guests from the accommodations to the venue and activities for them to do on wedding weekend outside of wedding day itself.

Know Your Non-Negotiable Items

Whether it is staying in budget or walking down the aisle with your fur baby, it is important to know what is most important to you and stick with it. As you go through the planning process and start seeing venues, you may find yourself adding items to your want list. Keep your wants in order of most important to least, that way you don’t rule out a venue that has all of your key hot buttons simply because it is missing one that you really don’t care about any way.

Keep it Real

No one knows wedding venues like, you guessed it, wedding venues. As you tour venues and meet with venue staff, keep it real. Don’t love the venue? Be honest. Your venue contact may be able to recommend other venues in the area that better fit your needs. Love the venue but received a proposal that’s way over what you had budgeted? Let them know. They may be able to adjust the package to work within your budget if you are flexible with your date or package inclusions.

Think you’ve narrowed down your wedding venue search and decided on “the one”? Don’t gamble with the losing your spot. Get it locked in! Popular venues and dates can book out up to two years in advanced, so if you’re date is available book it.
