Missy & Rae’s Ballroom Wedding in Orlando
Melissa (Missy) and Cassandra (Rae) had a gorgeous ballroom wedding just outside Orlando at the Mission Inn Resort.
Their Story:
Rae is an Orlando radio DJ for XL 106.7 and is considered a local celebrity and a huge advocate for the LGBTQ community. Missy is a local area police officer and detective. The couple was introduce by mutual friends. Missy popped the question with a fun Magic Kingdom proposal.
The couple fell in love with Mission Inn when they toured. Missy and Rae chose to honor their Italian heritage, creating a Tuscan inspired wedding day. Mission Inn was the perfect backdrop for their vision and a fun wedding weekend with their families.
Getting Ready:
Missy and Rae wore matching bride converses. They both sported Orlando pride socks as a tribute to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.
First Touch:
The couple decided to do a first touch instead of a first look. A changing screen was placed between the two of them allowing them to hold hands as they read love notes to each other.
The Ceremony:
Missy and Rae were married at Mission Inn’s Plaza de la Fontana. It was a gorgeous day in Orlando for an outdoor, garden ceremony. During the ceremony, Violectric performed electric violin music. The brides were escorted down the aisle by their fathers. Prior to the brides’ grand entrance, both moms joined hands. They walked down the aisle carrying a sign reading “here comes the brides”.
Blue Star, Rae’s colleague on Pride Radio Orlando officiated the wedding.
Portraits:
During cocktail hour, Missy and Rae took advantage of the gorgeous grounds at Mission Inn Resort for a fun portrait session.
The Ballroom Reception:
The reception was held in Mission Inn’s Grand Ballroom. The ballroom was strung with market lighting for the wedding, transporting the guests from Orlando to Tuscany. Tabletops alternated between white lanterns and gorgeous white floral centerpieces. Silver linens were complimented by silver chivari chairs and navy blue napkins. Purple uplighting certainly brought the whole look together to create a romantic, Tuscan feel.
From the Couple:
Thank you to Mission Inn staff! Every one was polite and made sure that we were escorted when we arrived. The staff bent over backward to make sure our weekend amazing! I am thankful for everything the wedding team at Mission Inn did to make our wedding a fairytale.
Where are they now?
